Celestial Math

Real celestial math probably includes some googols (that's a 1 with a hundred zeros after it) and a lot of googolplexes (which is 10 raised to the power of a googol--a nearly impossibly large number to comprehend). So, I guess those of you who don't like math had better come around.

On a completely different note, I really like the look of this gag. Especially the kid with his pencil in his mouth and the quiet Sunday School Presidency guy.

  1. This must represent an Honors or AP Sunday School Class because not only is the teacher posing that question, but all three of the extremely attentive students are eagerly trying to solve it. I love it!

  2. No offense to anyone in a sunday school presidency out there, but what is the purpose of a sunday school president anyway? That's a calling in the church that everyone wants because they never have to do anything. Much like the guy in your comic.

  3. Jena, do you think those bells will ring themselves? Do you?

  4. Every ward needs a stoic type with a russet beard.

  5. People want to be the SS school president because they get to ring the bells AND they get to have a beard. The Bishopric and others are not quite so lucky. :)

  6. Arie,

Didn't you once do a comic with a picture of Jon Freestone when he had a beard?

Jon, is this actually you in the comic?

  7. Wendi, you're exactly right. When our previous bishopric got released a couple of months ago, two of the three immediately grew out beards. The one who didn't was subsequently called to the High Council. He should have put his razor away.

  8. Eric, you have a good eye, I talked Arie into putting me in one of his Comics.

I just need to grow my beard back and it will be an exact match.

I have to say that the easiest calling isn't the Sunday School President, it is the 2nd Cancelor in the Sunday School Presidentcy.

For that job you get to roam the hall making sure others arn't roaming the hall. The Sunday School President still has to teach lessons when a Teacher can't make it.

  9. What is infinity divided by eight, anyhow? Would that still be infinity, or would you write it as a fraction; infinity over eight?
