Much like you need to periodically go through your 72 hour kit and rotate out food, water, and clothing; remember to do the same with your game console. (You'd hate for your child to be embarrassed in an emergency to have to play on a Super Nintendo, or something equally ancient, while all his friends are playing Xbox 360.)
Your comic hints at "things we wish we could include in 72 hour kits." After taking a pole from the kids, these are the things we wish we could include in ours: the DSi, shakes, a Peter Pan costume and some Build-a-Bears.
ReplyDeleteRemember when the Super Nintendo was the coolest thing ever? I could stay entertained for a good 72 hours with Super Mario Bros. and Zelda with an ancient Super Nintendo. Wait, are you implying that we're "ancient"?
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite of your cartoons (thus far). It could be because we had this very discussion following a preparedness-themed family night!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kevin, although I'm surprised you haven't already turned your preparedness-themed family night discussion into a gag. Or have you?
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite comics of yours was an idea my wife and I unsuccessfully played around with one night while we were brainstorming gags. Imagine my surprise when--the very next morning--I visited your blog and found the very idea perfectly worded as your daily post.
I definitely don't think keeping a game boy or some cheaper handheld gaming device is a bad idea. Its good to keep yourself entertained and distracted.
