Today's gag (which I'm awfully fond of) marks the 500th post to this blog. Considering that by my sixth post I was openly wondering if this thing would take, I'm rather proud of that fact.
To celebrate, I'm giving away a signed copy of The A-MAZE-ing Book of Mormon. Just leave a comment to this post and you'll be entered to win. The contest will close Monday morning when I post the 501st time.
UPDATED: g is our winner. Please send me an email at arie@mormoncartoonist.com with your name, address, and the name who you'd like me to sign the book to. Thanks to everyone who participated.

Thanks for the fun comics!!
ReplyDeleteAre you sure a teenage girl would be reading from a book and not her phone? Seems to me they would be reading from a digital device.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 500 posts, may you give us 500+ more.
Dang, you're right, Jon (about the phone verses scriptures). Maybe that's why the New Era didn't buy this one.
DeleteMaybe, but for artistic purposes it is easier to show a book. If looking at a phone would you have to have her explain that she is reading the scriptures?
DeleteI.E. Matthew 5:3 says ..., instead of just saying the scripture, kind of does take away a bit from the comic.
We love that Maze Book, it is a well-worn member of our diaper bag.
ReplyDeleteInitially, your name is what caught my attention since it is either Dutch or German. But I do like your cartoons and refer to them occasionally when writing an email or responding to a social media posting. Thanks for your work!
ReplyDeleteArie, my whole family loves your comics!
ReplyDeleteLove the lighter side of the LDS population!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on making 500! That's no easy task. Here's to the next 500!
ReplyDeleteYou say that, my prolific friend, but I wager you come close to that number in a single year.
DeleteCongratulations on the 500th! I'm extremely impressed with your talents, creativity and voluminous output. Anytime I think about what it would take to come up with 500 separate gags about a single subject I am utterly astounded. And then I remind myself that you could probably do a thousand comics about ward basketball alone. Thank goodness, too! You have plenty of material for the next 500.
ReplyDeleteArie:
ReplyDeleteI love your work. I know your cousin (Jame Van De Graff) because we work together in the Chicago Temple.

I'm so excited for 500 more posts from you! No pressure though...
ReplyDeleteGulp. No pressure.
DeleteOddly enough despite spending lots of time online - and being an e-learning specialist - I prefer reading the Scriptures in 'dead tree' format! Or online on the LDS website - very convenient when preparing to teach a lesson.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 500th post. Keep up the good work.
Congratulations on your 500th post. I just bought "The Puzzle Book" for my little girl and now my husband is busy solving the puzzles. :-)
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work!
Congratulations on the big 5-0,0! We love reading all your new and exciting little comics! I loved having The A-Maze-Ing Book of Mormon as a kid and would love a copy for my son!
ReplyDeleteI check your comments each week. Congrats on 500 posts - A-MAZE-ing!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI include one of your comics each week in my email update to the Young Men and their parents in my ward, so don't quit your day job anytime soon! ...at least not until I'm released from this calling :)
