As a missionary, hair became a necessary evil. I mean, I couldn't exactly shave my head bald, but otherwise I wanted as little as possible. As a result, I kept asking for shorter and shorter haircuts over the course of my mission until it got to the point that the Mission President's wife had to intercede and remind me that I was in God's army not the U.S. army.

A few weeks ago, one of our Elders turned up in church with his head shaved virtually bald. His explanation? He'd been cutting his hair, noticed a tuft and took a swipe at it, failing to spot that the comb was no longer on the clippers and shaved that patch bald. So he shaved the rest to match. It's all growing back now...
