    It would seem learning to cook is as useful a skill for aspiring missionaries as such delights as 'how to iron a dress shirt' (which our Young Men spent an evening on a while back), or even learning the Scriptures... that's not heretical, they can continue learning Scriptures on the mission, but it can be a bit late to learn to cook :)
