District Meeting

As a missionary, I participated in a number of excellent district meetings where we discussed best practices and came away inspired to work harder. I also experienced a number where we did little more than chew the fat and eat some treats. I guess that's the danger when you place the responsibility to organize and run a meeting in the hands of 18, 19, and 20-year-olds.

    I once was invited to attend a District Meeting to talk about my conversion and the role that the local ward had in my decision to join the Church. There was just one problem... they started with an ice-breaker where they got various missionaries to stand up and tell a joke! Immediately after that they asked for my testimony.... evil lot :)

      Yeah, it says something to the message that it is as successful as it is even when it's shared by the "weak things of the world."
