I just realized something: I went nearly eight years on this blog without drawing a witch, only to feature two in back to back weeks. You'll also notice that their chins get bigger from week to week. I'd better stop now or there won't be any room for anything but a chin next week.
As a fairly new convert I always find it a little surprising how much attention is paid to Halloween in the church (tonight there's a 'Trunk or Treat' activity at the stake house, for example). Guess it's all about grabbing the good bits from other traditions - "Why should the devil have all the good tunes?" asked William Booth, founder of the Salvation Army, when putting together a hymnbook.
Megan - I'm familiar with the quote as my parents family are still regular Salvation Army. There was a series hosted by wotsisname from Record Breakers in the UK describing how the tune for "Champagne Charlie" was borrowed for "Bless his name he sets me free"
Since 2009, I've posted silly little gags to this website twice a week. My work has been featured in the New Era, For the Strength of the Youth, and The Friend (for some reason, I have yet to crack the Liahona). Between 2014 and 2016, my comic strip Mission Daze was featured in the Deseret News (back when newspapers were still a thing). I've published a plethora of activity books (links for which you can find on this page). Please stay a while and enjoy.

ReplyDeleteElder Donald L. Hallstrom probably shares your sentiment regarding Halloween.
DeleteHave you thought to do some cartoons for Rogue One? Like Darth Vader in the ward Christmas choir?
