I've found that they're 100% hit or miss. Either they're one of the best talks I'll hear all year, or they need to go take a course in public speaking.
Given that I teach students how to give presentations, I quite often sit in sacrament meetings getting distracted with dreams of giving a class at church!
Wake-up hymn seems appropriate for those that participated in a New Year party and have the early block. Thank goodness most stakes have postponed fast Sunday until next week.
Since 2009, I've posted silly little gags to this website twice a week. My work has been featured in the New Era, For the Strength of the Youth, and The Friend (for some reason, I have yet to crack the Liahona). Between 2014 and 2016, my comic strip Mission Daze was featured in the Deseret News (back when newspapers were still a thing). I've published a plethora of activity books (links for which you can find on this page). Please stay a while and enjoy.

ReplyDeleteI wonder what an LDS course on public speaking might look like. (This might be the seed to a future gag...)

ReplyDeleteYeah, moving from a 1:00 PM start time to a 9:00 AM start time would be particularly brutal. A move from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, however, was pure bliss!
DeleteYeah, the change from 8 am to 10am was gorgeous
