In-kind donations were taken directly to the Bishop's Storehouse and distributed to the needy, just as today's storehouses do today. (Today's storehouses store what's made in church factories for the needy. Early storehouses stored the in-kind donations since there weren't factories to fill them.)
Since 2009, I've posted silly little gags to this website twice a week. My work has been featured in the New Era, For the Strength of the Youth, and The Friend (for some reason, I have yet to crack the Liahona). Between 2014 and 2016, my comic strip Mission Daze was featured in the Deseret News (back when newspapers were still a thing). I've published a plethora of activity books (links for which you can find on this page). Please stay a while and enjoy.

ReplyDeleteLove you comics!
Thanks for the further explanation and your comment.
DeleteIn kind donations are still a thing. Donating stock is a popular one so you don't realize capital gains.
ReplyDeleteLess smelly than a tenth of a farm, too!
